NIPUN Tripura is the need of the hour.
The National Education Policy 2020 envisioned children with strong Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills and advocated for appropriate reforms at multiple levels to achieve the same. Following that, the MHRD on 5th July released the NIPUN Bharat guidelines that would help the states achieve this vision in a ‘mission mode’. These guidelines look at Foundational Literacy as a 4-year continuum, with one year of Balvatika (pre-school) along with Grade 1-3. It details out with focus the competency-based pedagogy, teacher training and capacity building of the mid-level govt officials, essential goals and outcomes, and involvement of community / parents in the learning process

The State’s Ministry of Education will lead the implementation of National Initiative for proficiency in Reading and Understanding Numeracy (NIPUN Tripura), the State’s Mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)
In line with what #NEP2020 recommends, the mission will
NIPUN Bharat Mission or National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy is launched by the Education Ministry of India under National Education Policy 2020. This scheme ensures that every child in India gains foundational numeracy and literacy by the end of Grade 3.
The vision of NIPUN Bharat Mission is to create an enabling environment to ensure universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy, so that every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27.
